Decision Time

You guys may recall that I’ve been tormenting myself over which university I want to apply to next Fall… it’s been between two choices, Kansas State’s Online Distance Dietetics Program (Bachelor’s), or the University of Green Bay’s Human Biology with an emphasis in Dietetics Bachelor’s degree program.  The online program allows for more flexibility, no travel time, & maybe some time to work & have a bit more of a life…. but, it also means not socializing & being stuck in the apartment, alone, most of the day.  It also involves arranging for some facilities to do labs in & a Registered Dietician in the area to shadow & help with some assignments…

On the other end, is the UW-Green Bay program that involves face-to-face interaction, the possibility of friends, tutors, help from professors, & being out of the house most of the time.  It also has a 2-1/2 hour travel time on it (total- back & forth).  Not much time for a job, life, or working out… but, it also has a tuition plateau if I take that many courses, so maybe I’d save a little.. & it’d probably be good for me to not be cooped up in the house all day long.

The reason I need to decide this sooner, rather than later, is that I’m planning on taking 2 more semesters (Spring & Summer) at my current online school, but each university choice requires a slightly different course path for me next semester.  So, after all of that back & forth in my brain, I think I’m most likely going with UW-Green Bay.  I like that it’s a Human Biology degree with an emphasis in Dietetics.  I would feel very smart having that degree, indeed.  Plus, I feel like I might be happier being with like-minded people at school & I can get more help instead of floundering around here on my own all day.  Just hoping this classroom learning style agrees with me – it’s been awhile!  Plus, it’s not like I’m doing BAD going to school online – quite the opposite, actually.  Just hoping my good grades continue there.  I figure either way I choose, it’s going to be a hard road.  I can do this though… just need to keep reminding myself of that.  😉

Lunch

After analyzing college costs & plans all morning I was famished!  It wasn’t until about 1pm that I realized lunch time was passing me by & that I was so hungry!  I threw together a salad… simple, healthy, & quick.

I filled my bowl with a bunch of organic baby spinach, then topped it with garbanzo beans, green bell pepper chunks, avocado, fat free mozzarella, & balsamic vinegar.  Delicious.

Next, it was time to walk “the beast”… Mya, in case you’re wondering.   😉

Workout

This afternoon’s workout was Zumba!  Boy, was/am I sore!!  I’m definitely feeling the effects of yesterday afternoon’s Bodyworks class.  My pecks & hamstrings are killing me!  I think that Zumba was a good choice to help stretch it all out though.

It was also quite the calorie burner, apparently!  I am always SO sweaty when I finish… I call myself a sweaty beast.  It’s kind of embarrassing

that I sweat so much, but nothing I can really do about it.  I’m always drenched when we’re done & I feel like hardly anyone else has even worked up a sweat, aside from our instructor.

Oh, & as for the contest with the star stickers I was talking about yesterday – the charts are down, but I think I came in second…. yay!  Winners will be announced on Saturday morning.  😉

Question:

  • How’s your sweat level?  Are you a sweaty beast, or are you someone who hardly even breaks a sweat?

Dinner

Really wasn’t sure what to make for dinner tonight… ended up feeling like some breakfast food since I wasn’t too satisfied with my morning oatmeal… & I missed my French toast.

I made some of my Pumpkin French toast & topped it with a tbsp of maple almond butter, Craisins, & sugar free maple syrup.  I also had two slices of turkey bacon that were crispy & delicious.  Now our apartment smells like yummy turkey bacon & breakfast.  😉  Gosh, I love Brinner!   I think I could eat breakfast food all day long…

Question (leave a comment below):

  • What’s your favorite meal of the day?

Snacks

  • Hard boiled egg
  • Light frozen yogurt caramel bar… mmm…
  • 0% plain Greek with cereal, apple chunks, & PB

I’d say it ended up being a pretty tasty day!  Oh, & in case you didn’t know, it’s National Peanut Butter Month!!  Whoo-hoo!!!  I think November is officially my favorite month now.  😉
